Genres

Seventh Ribbon Music does not begin with genre.

Every song begins with a feeling, a lesson, an observation or a story. The genre is chosen later, based on the most effective way to deliver that message to the listener.

A conversation between a grandfather and grandson may naturally become a Country song. A story about addiction and inner conflict may demand the tension of Blues. A message of hope and restoration may find its home in Contemporary Christian Music. A song about resilience, movement and determination may call for the energy of Country Rock or Adult Contemporary Rock.

For this reason, the Seventh Ribbon Music catalogue spans multiple genres. The goal is not to fit every song into a predetermined musical category. The goal is to find the right vehicle for the message.

Current genres include Country, Country Rock, Blues, Folk, Americana, Contemporary Christian Music (Soft Rock and Soulful/Ethereal), Adult Contemporary, Recovery, Sport and Christmas/Holiday music. As the catalogue continues to grow, additional genres may emerge where they provide a better delivery mechanism for a song's story, emotion or lesson.

The common thread across all genres is not musical style. It is storytelling.

Whether the song is about faith, identity, recovery, family, history, sport, relationships or the ordinary moments that shape our lives, each track begins with a real-world observation and a genuine feeling. From there, the music becomes the vehicle that carries the message.

In that sense, Seventh Ribbon Music is not a catalogue of genres.

It is a catalogue of stories.
